Moving Rope
The Magician shows a card with 3 holes in it, the threads rope in one of the end holes and whilst behind his back the rope instantly jumps from the red side to the yellow side of the card.
A younger audience will be screaming that the Magician is just turning it around behind his back, you can basically kill as much time as you like with this effect and the longer you kill the more wild the kids in the audience will become.
Eventually you can magically and visibly transform the rope onto the middle hole to the amazement of your screaming young audience.
